Book meme- Day three...
Jun. 7th, 2010 11:56 pmOk, coming in just under the wire....oops almost forgot....
Day 3 – Your favourite book.
This I find almost impossible to answer because I love so many different types of books that I find it almost impossible to make a choice. I mean I even have problems picking favourites within a genre, so ... *Sigh* *looks at bookshelf*
How about one of my favorite books which means a lot to me, and I find something different in every time I read it? Some of you may know I love Ancient Egypt and it's a very large hobby of mine...

This was probably the second serious book on Ancient Egypt I read...and it's about tutankhamun. I loved it. It's the story of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, a close look at lots of the grave goods, and it has a lot relational information to egyptian culture. I devoured it, and kept coming back to it, and I still love it. I can now of course pick the problems with it, see where the bow has been drawn a little too liberally, and where it's been fudged just a little bit too much.
Still, it is a wonderful story, beautifully put together, and is a classic. Details at amazon. And now I need to schedule another re-read in for this one....and yes, made it by 4 mins!
